Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Chill the unopened soda bottle in the refrigerator for about three hours.
2
Fill the bucket approximately three-quarters full of ice cubes.
3
Shake a 1/4-inch layer of rock salt over the ice.
4
Insert the cold soda bottle down into the center of the ice so only the neck of the bottle is above the ice.
5
Insert the thermometer into the bucket right beside the soda bottle. The tip of the thermometer needs to be beneath the ice cubes.
6
Monitor the temperature. You need the soda bottle to spend about 10 minutes in the ice bucket at 17 degrees Fahrenheit. The ice and salt will create the ideal temperature for freezing the soda.
7
Remove the soda bottle from the ice bucket after the 10 minutes elapses. Unscrew the cap carefully and watch the soda inside the bottle. It will freeze from the top to the bottom as the carbon dioxide moves in the bottle.
