Out of Bounds is the umbrella organization for a great number of the New York City area’s LGBT sports and recreational teams. Nearly 40 member groups are currently affiliated with Out of Bounds, which helps facilitate inter-group communication and expand awareness of local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender sports. Out of Bounds also creates outreach programs for under-represented groups, assists with the formation of new sports and recreational environments, fosters dialogue on LGBT athletic issues, acts as a conduit for communication with similar organizations in other cities, and promotes competition on local, national, and international levels.

Member groups currently affiliated with Out of Bounds include NYC Gay Hockey Association, The Village Dive Club, Ramblers Soccer Club, Metropolitan Tennis Group, Frontrunners, Ski Bums, Fast & Fabulous Cycling Club, Big Apple Softball League, Team New York Aquatics, TNYA Water Polo Team, Outbike New Jersey, En Guard, NYC Gay Basketball League, Boxing & Martial Arts, Ping Pong NY, Sundance Outdoor Adventure Society, NY Nicks Gay Squash Club, Monday Night Madness Bowling, Garden State Gay Bowling Organization, Outcycling, Gotham Volleyball League, Big Apple Dodgeball, Gotham Knights Rugby Football Club, Knickerbocker Sailing Association, Crew New York, Brooklyn Blades Women's Ice Hockey, Metro Gay Wrestling Alliance, NY Gay Pool League, Cheer New York (Cheerleading), NY Gay Football, MCAANY Bowling, Sunday Bowling League, Match Play Masters Bowling League, Long Island Pride Sports Association, Times Squares Square Dancing Club, Team New Jersey, CRUX - LGBT Rock Climbing Club, and Southern New England Softball.
