- 1). Place the Anubias either into an aquarium or large potter with 2 or 3 inches of gravel at the bottom. Try to keep the foliage above the water line for faster growth, although Anubias will still grow completely submerged if you are using it to decorate an aquarium.
- 2). Keep your light exposure low around the Anubias Nana growing area. Too much light on the foliage will slow down growth and encourage algae formation on the leaves. However, light that shines directly onto the rhizomes will encourage growth.
- 3). Put driftwood in the container, as the Anubias prefers to root on it. If you don't have driftwood, use rough rocks. Use thin twine to gently tie the rhizomes onto the wood or rock to encourage rooting.
- 4). Reproduce your Anubias by cutting up the rhizomes. Ensure that the rhizome piece has at least three leaves so that it can do photosynthesis optimally. Choose larger rhizomes to cut since they most likely store the most nutrients.
