Natural Cures for Endometriosis Part 2

Endometriosis is a chronic disorder that is popularly characterized by the agonizing pain that comes with it.
What happens is that the endometrium, which is the inside tissue lining of the uterus, starts growing on the outside of the uterus.
The ovaries, pelvic lining and the fallopian tubes are more prone to this growth.
In very severe cases, the growth might end up extending all the way to the pelvic area.
According to statistics, endometriosis affects over 5 million women in Canada and the United States alone.
There are a number of endometriosis treatment options being used today.
However, most medical experts prefer the natural remedies due to the obvious reason; no chemical side-effects.
Whenever one experiences pelvic pains which means that you might be suffering from endometriosis, then the very first thing to do is visit a doctor.
This is the only way to get proper diagnosis.
Some of the possible natural treatments for this particular condition include:
  • Avoid any chemical intake- This is the main reason behind going for natural treatments.
As a matter of fact, research has shown that PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) and dioxins which are the two most common environmental chemicals are behind the increased prevalence of endometriosis.
Normally, these two chemicals tend to accumulate in animal fat.
Therefore, stop consuming animal fats in order to reduce presence of such chemicals in your body.
This means avoiding red meat, fish as well as high fat dairy products.
  • Progesterone cream- Although not so common, some practitioners normally use progesterone cream as part of their endometriosis cure.
The cream has been found to be very effective in terms of slowing down the growth of the abnormal endometrial tissues; whether on the outer region of the uterus or in the pelvic region.
It also helps in reducing pelvic pains as well as menstrual pains.
It should be applied on the upper chest, inner arms, wrists and the inner thighs according to the doctor's prescription.
However, it is important to notice that too much progesterone might lead to side-effects such as depression, gaining of weight, excess menstrual bleeding and mood swings.
  • Omega 3 consumption- Intake of Omega 3 fatty acids has been found to be beneficial to those suffering from endometriosis.
Not only do they slow down the growth of abnormal endometrial tissues, but also get rid of the inflammatory chemical responsible for the pelvic pains.
Omega 3 fatty acids can be found in some fish types such as sardines, salmon and mackerel.
Alternatively, one can go for the fish oil capsules.
  • Hydrotherapy- This is mainly in the form of a contrast sitz bath.
Sit in a small tab or basin full of hot water for at least 3 minutes.
Then get into a much larger tab full of cold water for another minute.
This should not however be done during menstruation.
The cycle should be done at least thrice a day.
  • Vegetable-rich diets- Vegetables contain flavones which have been found to the conversion of androgens to estrogens, which is helpful to endometriosis victims.
Easily-available vegetables such as kales, cabbages and broccoli should do the trick.
  • Natural herbs- there are a number of herbs that are also quite effective in healing endometriosis.
Examples include; Valerian, cramp bark, yarrow, motherwort and feverfew.
