How to Capture Time & Date Stamps Through FireWire

    • 1). Check the computer for a FireWire connection port. This port looks similar to a USB connection, only one end is curved and there is a "Y" icon printed next to it.

    • 2). Plug the FireWire cable into the FireWire connection port on the hard drive, then attach the opposite end of the cable into a FireWire port on the computer.

    • 3). Power on the hard drive, then click "Start," "Computer" and double-click the removable device icon. A window loads with all the files currently saved on the drive.

    • 4). Click-and-drag the images with the date and time stamp onto the desktop or any other location to which you want to copy the files. Momentarily, the files upload directly onto the computer via the FireWire cable.
