The advent of game technology on phones has led to a rise in the number of stick figure action games available for purchase. These games are notable for their simplicity, familiarity, and humor. Most stick figure games for phones are inexpensive and can be downloaded for less than two dollars. - Stick Wars is a medieval battle game app for iPhone that involves defending your fortress from an unrelenting army of warrior stick figures. Set against a solid backdrop of a fortress wall, enemy stick figures charge your fortress and try to break through using sticks, spears, catapults and battering rams. The player protects their fortress by tapping on the stick figures to throw them high up into the air, against each other, or into their own war machines until they explode. At the end of each level, the computer calculates the number of points the player gets and allows the player to use the points to rebuild parts of their damaged fortress or purchase add-ons and amenities, such as bombs or a jail to hold enemy stick figures. Each level increases with difficulty, but there is an online forum found within the app that allows you to share tips, secrets, and cheats with other players.
- Parachute Panic is humorous skill game for the iPhone which involves stick figures that jump out of a plane using a parachute and try to land on top of an aircraft carrier in the ocean. Players must tap on the falling stick figure to open their shute. There are also a number of obstacles, distractions, and enemies that attempt to prevent you from opening your shoot. Players redirect their stick figure's course of descent with their fingers, and try and grab power-ups and extra lives as they fall. The figures must also avoid hungry sharks in the waters below them.
Parachute Panic is a simple, straightforward game that is easy to pick up. Part of the appeal of the game is its basic, paper and ink visual style that resembles a child's doodling in the margins of a piece of graph paper. There are two levels of difficulty as well a numerous tutorials within the game. - Doodle Army is a fast-paced, violent stick figure action game for the iPhone which involves a lone stick figure solider battling armies, zombies and aliens with a variety of complex weapons and machines. The game has a scrolling background that changes locales with each level, and a small storyline woven between levels of play. The game is extremely violent, with cries of pain and blood pouring from enemies each time you kill one.
