How to Erase Virtual Memory From a Computer

    • 1). Launch the Control Panel through the Windows Start Menu. Select "System and Security" from the list of options, then select "System." Launch the "Advanced System Settings" to the left of the Control Panel applet.

    • 2). Click "Settings" located in the Performance section. Browse to the "Advanced" tab and click "Change" from the Virtual Memory section.

    • 3). Disable the checkbox that states "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives." In turn, this will allow you to customize the virtual memory and make any desired modifications. Select "No paging file" to erase or disable the available virtual memory.

    • 4). Click "Set" to apply your new system changes. Click "OK" to exit out of the applet in question.
