- 1). Paint the sloped ceiling a shade that complements the color of the room, but that is a different, lighter color. For example, if your walls are hunter green, paint the sloped ceiling a light green or light mauve. A lighter color gives the illusion of more space.
- 2). Place a low piece of furniture on the low end of the slope. If the slanted ceiling is in the bedroom, a bed might seem like an appropriate idea. However, the user must be careful not to hit her head every morning on the ceiling. Low bookcases and low credenzas are all ways to accentuate the interesting ceiling.
- 3). Screw in wall hooks in an even row along the low end of the slope. Hang electric lanterns off each hook. This creates a pleasant glow and illuminates the higher points of the sloped ceiling.
- 4). Hang a round, framed mirror on one of the walls that is on either side of the sloped ceiling. The curvy lines of the mirror break up all the sharp geometric angles of the room and reflects the light.
