DIY Ribbon Covered Vases

    • 1). Wash the vase and dry it thoroughly. Adhesives will adhere better to a clean surface.

    • 2). Measure the circumference of the vase exactly where you intend to place the ribbon accent, whether that’s at the base, in the center or along the top rim. If you plan to cover the vase completely in ribbon, take multiple measurements, as vases may grow wider or narrower toward the top.

    • 3). Cut your ribbon to 1 inch longer than the measurement you took, using sharp scissors.

    • 4). Run a piece of double-sided tape around the vase where you intend to place the ribbon. Press the ribbon onto the tape, taking care that it’s straight and pulled taut, with no wrinkles. Alternatively, use a hot glue gun to fasten the ribbon around the vase.

    • 5). Overlap the edges of the ribbon and seal the top edge in place with another piece of double-sided tape or a dot of glue.
