Should I Use Twitter for My Marketing?

To tweet or not to tweet, Twitter Marketing; To me, what this topic poses is a silly question;and very easily answered; of course its a big resounding YES! After all its free so why not.
Well, that in itself is a great argument, but one of only many.
In today's world of new age marketing techniques (both online and offline) we have moved into a space known as engagement (those of you old enough will say "what the hell am I talking about; isn't that what we used to do", and your 100% right, it is) Engagement is about building your brand, customer loyalty and long term relationships, yes, like the old fashioned way of sales and marketing.
Social Media has given us the insight to finally realise that our business's were rudely engaging for the purpose of only a quick buck; the fast sale! Nowadays with Social Media we have been reminded to build brand, loyalty and most of all TRUST from our clients and potential clients; no matter what the product or service is! This is a topic for another blog, i have already covered it at length, but I think you get the point.
Back to topic; Social Media is FREE! Social Media; twitter, Facebook and the many many other options out there gives business the opportunity like no other in history to get our message across for no cost! So in short; why on earth wouldn't you use it? It doesn't make sense to ignore this phenomenon.
Back to marketing (more importantly online marketing); it has long been thought that marketing is about the age old rule 80/20, you all know what that is so I wont explain, but this new age of marketing (although focusing on branding and loyalty) is about "Long Tail Marketing".
Long Tail Marketing is about getting out to as many people/ clients as possible and quickly.
This is easily achieved with Social Media.
So what has this all got to do with using twitter for your marketing? I mean, why should I use twitter for my marketing? Well as Social Search continues to overtake Index Search (yes folks, its happened already ), you must be exposed to all and many Social Networks, Twitter as a marketing tool is one of the easiest to use, understand and send your message out.
Twitter as a marketing tool, makes finding like minded followers and business is easy, much easier than other forms opf Social Media, and again, its FREE! (remember that), Tweets only have a short life span, so you can easily send your message out time and time again without it becoming stale (after-all your new followers wont have seen your message yet).
OK, now I hear you say, "how the hell do I find time for that?" Well its easy, it only takes a second to pop out a tweet, on the train, in the toilet, lying in bed or just relaxing by the TV.
A tweet is just a short message, like I said, it only takes a second! But that it not the end of this, you can make life really easy for your twitter marketing; you can automate! That's right automate your twitter account! So back to the question, "Should I use Twitter for my Marketing?" well, I think you now see why, and with the possibility of automating your twitter account it seems like there is absolutely no reason not to use twitter for your marketing.
So have a look at the possibility of automating your Twitter account, its cheap, easy and above all works 24/7, you cant! Happy tweeting folks! Carpe Diem!
