How you handle the outcome of a bet is almost as important as what you've bet, and what you've bet on.
The brain works in patterns, and if you establish a negative recourse after a loss or win it is very possible to repeat that negative action should you find yourself in the same situation down the line.
Repeating that action could lead to a habit, and as we all know bad habits are hard to break.
The best course of action to take after winning or losing a bet is to take it in stride from the get go.
It can be hard taking a big bet in stride whether you win or you lose.
If you plan on handling the outcome ahead of time with aplomb it can ease the burden of unbridled emotion that is sure to spirit through you.
Think ahead of time for both scenarios.
Think what you would do if you won, and then temper it.
Then think of what you'd do if you lost, and temper that as well.
Temperance was one of the four cardinal virtues(observed in nature) defined by St.
Thomas Aquinas, and with good reason.
Going off the deep end win or lose is only a recipe for hardship, or if you lost...
more hardship.
If you lost a substantial sum of money, it isn't smart to mortgage property in hopes of winning back what you lost.
If you won a substantial sum of money, stashing some of it away for a rainy day isn't such a bad idea.
Who knows what bets to be made are out there for tomorrow?
