Using Black Hair Extensions that Clip In

When you buy your own set of black hair extensions that clip in, how are you supposed to attach them to your natural locks? Unlike other hair extensions, clip ins are more affordable and easier to manage. Clip ins come in sets of wefts that are lined with pressure sensitive clips along the top that are attached to your natural locks. This process is straightforward and doesn't need the skill of a professional to be carried out.

For the best results, research the quality of the black hair used in the clip in extensions. The best black clip on hair extensions are made with premium quality human hair. Human hair used in hair extensions is usually graded according to quality and there are different grades available. You get grade A hair which is the highest quality and has the cuticles intact so that they appear in the same direction to produce natural movement and appearance. You can also find grade B and C human hair extensions at more reasonable prices, but the quality isn't the same, nor will synthetic hair extensions give you results as natural as high quality human hair extensions.

If you want to know how to use your black hair extensions that clip in, just follow these easy steps to enjoy fuller, thicker styles:
  • Clean and dry hair is a must when clipping in hair extensions.  If you have dirty hair, the grease will transfer to the hair extensions and you will have to wash them, which lessens their durability.
  • Make a horizontal parting across your scalp just above your ears and secure the hair that's above the parting with a clip or band. Comb the hair that is left loose.
  • Pick up the first hair weft to attach and begin with the middle clip. Slip it onto your natural hair and press it shut. Check if the clip is firmly in place and continue with the clips on either side. Make sure all the clips are in place.
  • Take out the top part of your hair that has been clipped up and make another horizontal parting  1 inch above the attached weft.  Pin up the rest to work on later. Attach another weft in the same way as you did the first. Repeat the steps for the rest of the application.
  • Continue making horizontal partings and attaching the wefts as you move up the back of your head. Attach the 1 inch side wefts by making a horizontal parting above your ear and attaching the clips in. Use a mirror to check that no clips are peeking out.
