Cat Carrier - Training Your Feline Friend to Get Used to Being in a Carrier

A cat carrier is a great way to transport your cat.
It can double as a place for him or her to sleep in.
There are many styles to choose from and many different price ranges to choose from.
Finding the perfect carrier for your cat is going to take some consideration.
You have to consider the size of your cat and how much room he or she needs to feel comfortable.
In some instances it may be required that you slowly get him or her used to the carrier to keep them calm and willing to get in the carrier.
Cats can be trained just as a dog is trained to get into the carrier.
The best way to do this is to slowly introduce the idea of the carrier to your cat.
You can put it in the room that your kitty favors and simply leave the door open the first couple of days without doing anything else to coax the cat into the carrier.
After the first two or so days you can put a little catnip in a toy in the back of the carrier to see if you can get your kitty to further investigate.
Each time your cat goes into the carrier willingly show your approval.
After the first couple of weeks you can start closing the door when they go in for a few minutes at a time.
Over time this will become their favorite sleeping area as long as you do not push them into the carrier they will come to accept it on their own.
There are some different types of carriers to choose from.
You can find a style that is soft shelled and more like a collapsible purse.
There are also hard shelled types that have bars on them and solid sides.
These are the most common types.
Soft shelled carriers are relatively new ideas but have quickly become popular.
The cost will vary and will largely depend on the size and the style.
A cat carrier is not only perfect for transporting your feline friend but can also be used as a safe secure place for them to sleep.
They are decorative and easy to carry.
A carrier is a must to take your kitty to the vet or anywhere outside the home.
