Three Top Attractions In Leeds

If you have never been to Leeds before you might be wondering what the best places are to visit. This is a bright and vibrant city to explore, so it might be difficult to know where to head to first.

Luckily you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to enjoying a day or two in the city. With that in mind here are three top options to think about when you want somewhere to go.

For starters you can try shopping in Leeds city centre. Indeed you could spend a whole weekend there shopping if you wanted to: such is the calibre of the shops you will be able to explore. There are various shopping centres including the White Rose Shopping Centre, which has plenty of brand name stores you can frequent.

Don't discount the markets either though. The Leeds Kirkgate Market is open every day except on Sundays, and it doesn't matter what the weather throws at you either because it is indoors. There are all kinds of stalls there and you can enjoy browsing for hours on end - there are hundreds of stalls in all.

Supposing shopping isn't your bag or you want to have a day out elsewhere around Leeds, what other choices are there?

The second one would have to be the Leeds City Museum. Where else can you find out all about Leeds and its history? There is much more than just Leeds' past here though - you can also explore the history of faraway Egypt and even catch a glimpse of the Leeds mummy! The museum is in Millennium Square so it should be easy enough to find.

Finally there is the Leeds City Cruise - another delightful way to find out more about this stunning city. As you might guess from the name this is no ordinary tour. You set foot on board a boat that stops in three places - Clarence Dock, Brewery Wharf and Granary Wharf. This gives you the opportunity to sit back and relax as you see the city from a different angle.

You will also enjoy being able to see the waterfront, which has changed a great deal in the years that have gone by. Why not catch an early morning boat and stop off at each place, hopping on and off the subsequent boats as they cruise past?

As you can see there is certainly plenty to do in Leeds. These three suggestions are merely the tip of the iceberg and you can easily plan a great weekend in the city. Leeds hotels are many and varied so you are sure to find something suitable that will fit your budget.

All that is left to do then is to enjoy all the best of Leeds.
