- The wineries of Napa Valley are some of the most scenic, romantic and relaxing escapes you can imagine. Many wineries host classes on wine tasting, music, art festivals and other events (see Resources).
- From the majesty of the Golden Gate Bridge and the fascinating history of Alcatraz, to the twists and turns of Lombard Street and the cable cars and neighborhoods highlighted in countless films, San Francisco is a city you should visit at least once in your life (see Resources).
- Whether you want to camp, raft, fish, hike, climb or just soak up some of the most gorgeous vistas in the United States, you should take in the mountains, forests, waterfalls and rivers of the Shasta Cascade region north of San Francisco.
- The Pacific Coast Highway can take you from Southern California right up through Washington state. Its Northern California section carries you through downtown San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge, through the scenic hills and upscale towns of Marin County, and then through grand redwood forests.
- Just south of San Francisco is the charming coastal community of Santa Cruz, with its world-famous, century-old Beach Boardwalk.
