Unique Graphic Design Ideas Cannot be Created with Swish of a Magic Wand!

There are some clients who fail to understand that novel graphic design ideas cannot be created with the flashing of eyelids. Creating innovative and unique designs is not like preparing instant coffee. It is the painstaking effort of transforming the ideas from the graphic designer's grey cells to its final execution.

Do you know the most difficult part of a designer's work? Designer's have a tough time convincing stubborn and rigid clients about the creative process of designing a website. At times, these creative artists are unable to express in words the time and effort in takes in giving a graphic design idea its complete shape. In this article, we have a look at the stages a designer has to go through before putting their ideas into action!

Profound Understanding of Designs

A creative idea does not simply come up if a graphic artist doesn't have a profound learning, understanding and knowledge of designs. He has to have atleast the know-how of the rudiments of designs. Graphicartists should keep themselves updated on the latest design styles and developments. I am not saying that not knowing about the latest designs will not generate better designs. But being aware will help designers to metamorphose ideas into authentic and appealing designs.

Trained in the Art

Only knowing how to draw or sketch is not the end of the learning curve as far as graphic design is concerned. Though a designer uses his hands and design softwares, he must be equally trained at using the various design tools so that they don't falter while creating effective logos, banners or adding special effects to ordinary photos. Training matters for rendering design ideas into their final execution.

Knowing the Client's Business

Having adequate knowledge about the client's business is much more crucial than getting onto the designs. Artists who rush onto the designs without complete understanding of the business will produce the most horrendous designs! Sometimes clients provide designers with a detailed design brief. Things run smoothly in such cases. But there are clients who doesn't provide much information on the designs. In such scenarios, it is the responsibility of the graphic artists to do a sound research on the client's business.

Getting Inspired!

After the designer is through with the brief and understanding of the business, it's time for getting inspired from these and utilizing them into the design. This is the phase where the ideas have still not matured. The designer has to jot down these small ideas and conceptualize them for final implementation.

Producing the Idea

This is the stage where the designers produce the final artistic idea or concept after going through the above painstaking efforts. It is now that the designers strain out the most bland and irrelevant ideas and come up with an idea what we call  graphic design. It involves eradicating the bad ideas till you are left with the most creative one!

The Final Implementation

Just producing the idea is not the end of designing. It has to be properly implemented else the all creativity will go for a toss! The final stage comprises of transforming the drawings into a digital form, applying effects, colors and final revision of the design before execution. A design is considered successful only after it has been accepted by your client.
