How to Repair and Fix the S10 Blazer Instrument Cluster

    • 1). Open up the hood of your S10 Blazer. Locate the battery. Use a wrench to remove the bolt which is fixed to the negative battery cable. Lift the negative cable away from the terminal. This will allow you to safely work on the vehicle's electrical components.

    • 2). Find the rubber bezel on the dashboard. The bezel can be found around the edges of the instrument cluster. Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws which hold it in place. Pull the bezel away from the dash.

    • 3). Remove the three mounting screws which fix the instrument cluster to the dash. Unhook the electrical connector from the rear of the cluster and remove the cluster fully from the dashboard.

    • 4). Unscrew the broken bulbs from the cluster. Turn them in a counterclockwise direction until they come free from the cluster. Attach new bulbs by turning them in the opposite direction until they are fixed securely in place.

    • 5). To reattach the cluster or install a new one, simply follow the removal steps in reverse. Connect the negative cable back on the the battery terminal and turn on the engine the engine to check that the cluster now works correctly.
