A Farewell Visit

Lulu is shocked when she opens her door and comes face to face with Maxie.

Maxie announces that she's leaving Port Charles.  She knows now that what she did was indefensible, and she wants to figure out why she did it and how she can be a better person.  In the end, they both lost the baby.  Lulu remarks that she knows the baby is doing well with Spinelli and Ellie. 

Lulu explains to Maxie that she can't give her what she needs -- forgiveness -- at this point.

  What happened can't be undone.  Maxie timidly asks if she and Dante have thought about trying again.  "Just because I was the surrogate from hell doesn't mean someone else would be," she says.  Lulu tells her about the missing embryos, but they are going through the process again.  Maxie is happy for her. 

Lulu says that she doesn't know if having another baby will change anything between the two former best friends.  They have been through so much, and said things in court that can't be unsaid.  "I don't expect anything," Maxie promises Lulu.  "Maybe I'll come back a better person, someone who deserves your friendship." 

Maxie goes home and continues packing.  There's a knock at the door.  She opens it to Nathan West.  A hunk!

Monica Confronts Silas

At General Hospital, Sam arrives to find out what Silas wants to tell her that is so urgent.  They are interrupted by Monica Quartermaine.  "I know what you did," she says.  Silas is clueless.  The board fired her as Chief of Staff because they didn't want any scandal rubbing off on the hospital due to A.J.'s trial.

  The board made up a list of possible replacements.  Silas Clay's name is at the top.  Silas shrugs.  He doesn't know anything about it. Monica doesn't believe him; she thinks he campaigned for the position.

Monica wants her job back and demands that Silas remove his name from the list.  Sam states that Monica is being unfair.  "This isn't over," Monica growls, walking away. 

Sam asks Silas what he wanted to tell her.  His phone rings.  It's another "restricted" call.  He ignores it.  "I wanted to say that I'm glad I'm spending New Year's Eve with you," is all he says.  

Trying Again

Dante is at General Hospital to interview Max about the shooting, but he isn't well enough.  He sees Britt with Ben and asks if the baby is okay.  Britt says she's bringing him to daycare as she is returning to work.  She assumes that Dante is there for Lulu's tests.  She admits that she was surprised to hear from his wife.  She thought that Lulu was angry that she kept Maxie's secret.  Britt admits that she had an ethical dilemma since both women were her patients.

Dante wants to let that all go.  He acknowledges that Britt had her own difficulties.  He says this is his and Lulu's last chance to have a child and that adoption is not possible.  (Why not?)  Britt tells Dante that she has something to say to him, but she doesn't -- Lulu arrives.  In the middle of Lulu's exam, Britt stops and looks at the image on the machine.  "Is something wrong?" Lulu asks.  

A New Year's Event

At the Scorpio-Drake home, Patrick suggests to Robin that they have another baby.  Robin says no, not right now.  She's getting acclimated to being home and for a while, she wants a normal routine, spending time with him and Emma.  Patrick understands.  He wishes there was some way they could celebrate being back together.  Robin has an idea -- why don't they renew their vows on New Year's Eve?  Patrick likes the idea. 

An Unexpected Situation

We switch to the Dubois-Santiago apartment, where Sabrina is denying to Felix that she could be pregnant.  She just doesn't feel well.  Felix says there's one way to make certain -- a pregnancy test.  Rather than returning to GH to pick up a test and be seen, Sabrina suggests that he go to a drugstore instead.  Felix is out the door in seconds. 

When he returns, Sabrina has changed her mind.  Felix insists that she find out once and for all.  She takes the test, and they sweat out the long wait -- something like three minutes.  Felix retrieves the test because Sabrina is too nervous.  He returns and says, "It's positive."  She grabs the stick.  "I'm pregnant," she says, in a stunned voice.
