How to Replace a Battery in a Sprint Cell Phone

How to Replace a Battery in a Sprint Cell Phone

    • 1). Take the phone to a Sprint store for a battery check. Before purchasing a new battery, be sure that's what the phone needs. Sprint employees can positively identify a dead cell phone battery.

    • 2

Remove the battery from the back of the cell phone. Use your thumbnail to move the clip-slot toward the top of the phone and pull the upper portion of the battery away from its encasement.

    • 3

Get the model numbers from the battery and the phone. It's likely the phone model number is all you will need, but it won't hurt to have the battery model number available.

    • 4). Check retail stores for matching replacements. Department stores, discount stores, electronics retailers and of course cell phone stores carry cell phones and accessories. If immediate replacement is necessary, call local retailers to find one with your battery in stock.

    • 5). Shop online for a discount price on a cell phone battery. Some battery types are less than $10, and some online retailers offer free shipping (See Resources).

    • 6). Clip the new battery into the back of your cell phone. Plug the phone into its charger for a full 8 hours for its initial charging. Afterward, the phone might need to be charged for only two to three hours when the battery wears down.
