Matthew 6:21 says "Your heart will always be whereyour treasure is.
" Even if you're not a Christian, that is an interesting topic to think about.
After all, common sense would tell us that what we spend our moneyon determines many things, including our personality, our habits, and generally what kind of a person we are.
You really can tell a lot from someone by looking at theircheckbook.
I don't want to categorize anyone, but most of us wouldagree that if we know someone giving 10% of their incometo their church, charity or homeless shelter, they aregenuinely a good person; or are at least trying to be.
We would also agree that the parents that spend moneyon nutritious food for their families, care about theirhealth and well-being.
What about the person who invests money in helping otherpeople? Buying groceries for a single mom or helping outwith a car repair sure speaks volumes about that person.
But how about the person that has a lot of spending atBestBuy or the Gap, month after month? While not inherentlybad, if this is you, you may want to take a closer lookto see if you are indeed managing your money in your bestinterests.
As an interesting exercise, take out your checkbook orbank statement and take a quick look at where your moneyis going.
It may surprise you what kind of person youreally are.
Making a change is easy.
It begins with a decision.
