It is quite possible to follow a healthy lifestyle and lose weight, without considering the power of your mind.
Just decide on your weight loss goal and get started on the chosen plan.
When it gets tough, grit your teeth, accept any misery and rely on your self discipline to get you through.
What might be a more attractive alternative, with a greatly increased possibility of success? In many different aspects of life, people's achievements are improved by recognizing and harnessing the hidden powers of the mind.
One of the important things I learned is that the following ideas can work, even if you do not believe so at first.
The number one thought is to accept total responsibility for your current body state.
Excepting illness and injury, you make your own body what it is.
Most of us can think of many reasons why we do not have an ideal shape.
We can blame our genes, slow metabolism, children, partner, job, parents and probably many other things we consider outside our own control.
Sorry, but these are little more than excuses.
Accept this and take your place as the captain of your future! You can then make decisions about how you are going to look and feel.
Your confidence can sky rocket and soon, looking in the mirror can be pleasure rather than source of shame.
Now let us consider just how you will feel about yourself, as a person in control of health, fitness and weight.
Happy? Happier than now almost certainly.
Well, instead of waiting to be happy about your new appearance, develop this new you by being happy about it now! How is it possible to be happy about that which has not yet happened? Think back to when you were a child; did you wait until the 25th of December to be excited and happy about Christmas? No? Why? Because you just knew that Christmas was going to happen and could feel and enjoy it, perhaps for weeks before.
Be really happy and grateful about the new you.
When you can see it in your mind, so clearly that you stick to your plans, the new shaped you must eventually follow.
When you use the marvelous powers of the mind as described, little will happen unless you make some changes in behaviour.
There are so many plans and programs around, you should soon find one which suits you and gives you the confidence to make those changes.
Apply your mind to your chosen plan; you will be amazed at how much better you can look and feel.
Please do not expect to find a 'magic pill' solution.
Most of us need to be checking our progress and making adjustments, possibly for the rest of our lives.
