- Not-so-nice breath can be the downfall of many an impending relationship. Vodka comes to the party here and can make a great mouthwash. Simply blend 9 tbsp. of powdered cinnamon with 1 cup of vodka. Seal the mixture and allow it to stand for two weeks. When you need to use it, filter it -- a coffee filter is ideal; mix with warm water; swirl it around in your mouth and spit it out.
- Vodka is also a great foot wash. Wash your feet with some vodka; it leaves no odor and thus no embarrassment when you take off your shoes. When a nursing baby spits up on your clothing, spray some vodka on your clothes, scrub gently with a brush and blot dry.
- Treat dandruff by mixing 1 cup of vodka with 2 cups of crushed rosemary. Let it sit for a couple of days, strain through a coffee filter and massage into your scalp. Let it dry and dandruff disappears. On the subject of hair, add some vodka to your shampoo. Add a jigger of vodka to your bottle of shampoo. The alcohol will cleanse your scalp and aids in the growth of healthy hair.
- When the evidence of mold or discoloration of caulking in the shower or bathtub appears, go for the vodka. Fill up a trigger-spray bottle, spray around the caulking, leave it for five minutes or so, then wash clean. The alcohol kills the bacteria which make up mold and mildew. If there are smokers at home or work, you can get rid of cigarette odors that hang around clothing by mixing one part vodka to three parts water; then spray, launder and dry.
- When cold sores appear, apply some vodka to a cotton swab and dab it on the sore. This helps it dry out. Blisters that burst can be a nuisance, if this happens, just pour some vodka over the raw skin. It will sting a bit but the vodka acts like a local anesthetic. Vodka is ideal for alleviating earache, toothache and muscle and joint pains.
