- 1). Log on to the Realtor.com home page and click the "Advanced Search" link in the "Find a Home" section.
- 2). Enter a city and state or zip code in the "Location" field you see in the pop-up box that appears.
- 3). Select the type of property you wish to search for, such as "Single Family Home" or "Land," under the "Property Types" heading.
- 4). Use the tabs at the left, such as "Property Features," to view and select other criteria for your search if desired.
- 5). Press the green "Search" box in the bottom left corner of the pop-up window to generate a list of properties matching your criteria. If you receive too many or too few results, refine your criteria and run a new search using the boxes provided on the left side of the search results page.
- 1). Go to the home page of HUD, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The site lists residential properties acquired by HUD in a foreclosure on an FHA mortgage.
- 2). Hover over the "Topic Areas" heading at the top, right section of the screen, then select "Homes for Sale."
- 3). Click the "From HUD" link on the next page that appears.
- 4). Click the state in which you want to find a home on the U.S. map that appears on the next page.
- 5). Click on the property case number beside each listing to see details about the property. You can also refine the search results using the criteria at the top of the page, such as price range and number of bedrooms. Press "Search" after making these selections.
- 1). Go to the Trulia home page, and look for the "For Sale" section.
- 2). Enter the zip code and city or state where you want to find a home in the "Location" section.
- 3). Use the drop-down menu provided to select a property type, such as condo or lot/land.
- 4). Select other criteria that are important to you, if desired.
- 5). Press the yellow "Search" button to see a list of properties matching your criteria. If you don't get enough results or get too many, use the selections on the left side of the search results page to refine your criteria, then press "Update."
