  1. The first step of improving your house should be strengthening its base and foundation. For that what you need to do is to maintain and inspect the gutters and roof. Make sure that you constantly keep an eye on the rain gutters, so that there is not dirt or debris accumulated. Also, keep the gutters free from twig, leaves, branches and other debris. Clean them regularly and check out for any leaks or damages. If any leaks or holes (no matter that how small they are) come to your notice, seal them gutter sealant. Also, ensure that your roof is clean and free from any sought of debris. You must wash and vacuum the roof at least once in a week or so. Check out for damages, cracks, and other signs of aging. If you find any damage on the roof, consider repairing it as soon as possible.

  2. Your house will perhaps sell better if the walls look clean and fresh. Off course, the buyers will not be impressed by seeing dirty and damaged walls. So clean and wash them regularly. Remove the stains and dirt, if any. If you can indicate any line of crack or damage, repair them immediately. If you feel that the walls still look dirty and shabby, apply a fresh coat of paint. Many people paint the interior walls of the house but not the exterior. However, that’s not right! Equal importance should be given to the exterior walls as well. While white or off-white is the best color for both interior and exterior walls, you can also choose from shades like light pink, blue, green, yellow or violet.

  3. Floors should be absolutely spotlessly clean. They should be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. Mop them daily with a good cleaning agent or vacuum them in every other day. Also, repair them if required. However, if the floors still look dull and unappealing, then consider replacing them. There is a myriad of choice when it comes to home flooring type. You can choose from hardwood flooring, laminate tile flooring, vinyl tile flooring, carpet tile flooring. If you want a combination of luxury and comforts, then carpet tile flooring and hardwood flooring would be ideal option. Laminate tile flooring could also be a great choice since they are easy to maintain as well as to install.

  4. Maintain the garden on a regular basis. Make sure that the plants and herbs look fresh and lively. Keep the garden free from weeds and debris like dry leaves, twigs and branches. Mow the lawn regularly and fertilize the soil at least once in a month. To protect the garden from rains and harmful UV rays, install a shade sail.
