Visiting Tucson, Arizona can be an amazing experience and is a destination for tourists from all over the world.
When it comes to inexpensive accommodations in Tucson, there aren't too many that are going to please many travelers.
One of the better choices for visitors on a budget is one of the clean and friendly hostels near the downtown area.
If you're still looking for something inexpensive there are many chain hotels along the Interstate 10 frontage road, but this isn't Tucson's most distinctive area however.
Scattered across midtown and moving towards the east side of town are dozens of big chain hotels to choose from.
If you would like to stay closer to the airport, there are the usual selection of hotels and suites near there as well.
If you're looking for something a little more interesting that will provide a more memorable visit to Tucson, you might want to think about staying in one of the small (though often relatively pricey) Bed and Breakfasts or inns in one of Tucson's assorted historic neighborhoods.
Included in this group is the beautiful Arizona Inn near the University of Arizona as well as Hotel Congress that is right in downtown, and rather reasonable as well.
You'll also find assorted inns in the historic Sam Hughes area in midtown, and in the El Presidio District near downtown.
For the more well-heeled traveler looking for a little pampering and some luxury, there are at least a dozen resorts looking to take care of your every need.
You can't go wrong, if you're willing to spend a bit of money, at one of the iconic Tucson resorts such as Canyon Ranch, Hacienda Del Sol, Miraval, Ventana Canyon or one of the other picturesque resorts.
You'll be able to find some relative bargains in Tucson if you're willing to brave the summer heat.
From roughly late May to late September, nearly all of the hotels, resorts, and inns in Tucson cut their prices-several by even 50 percent, though most somewhere in the 20 percent range.
You'll be able to enjoy fine lodging at a discount during these hot months and you'll find that if you get out early enough, the desert can be quite accessible and amazingly beautiful.
It always helps to check with some of the larger chains directly to see if they are offering any package deals as they are usually looking for ways to get visitors to the area in the summer.
Also, if you'll be in town during the winter months, especially around February or March, make sure you book your room early and plan ahead as Tucson is a very popular destination and there are many festivals, events and conventions in the area.
