This article is a response to a question by a reader of mine - here it is: 'How do I lose weight when I'm lazy and fat?' I don't think any of you fall into this category - but, the question did get me thinking.
And so here's my response: To lose weight, you have to expend more calories than you burn.
Then, you have to eat less.
These are the two 'golden rules' of weight loss.
So no matter what, we have to get these two things going for us.
You have to either move more, eat less, or both if you want to lose weight.
The combo of both works the best.
The solution is to slowly adopt this simple principle of thermodynamics - the principle that calorie balance is the ultimate determinate of weight - into your lifestyle.
Start parking your car further away when you go to the store.
Start taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
Start walking instead of driving to get the mail.
Also, start cutting out the crap in your diet.
If you're conscious about what you put in your mouth, it's really not that hard to stop eating stuff that you know is bad - chips, soda, pizza, are all examples of bad foods that most everyone knows that they shouldn't be eating but they do anyway.
So that's my solution to losing weight, even if you're lazy and fat.
Take these tips, follow them on a consistent basis, and you will see some weight loss.
And good luck!
