Volcom"s Wild in the Parks Amateur Skateboarding Contest Series Profile

What is Wild in the Parks?:

Volcom designed Wild in the Parks as their free-entry amateur-only skateboarding contest series. This contest series offers a lot of prizes, fame, and a $30,000.00 cash purse at the tour-concluding Championship event.

Wild in the Parks also has an international tour, that happens all over the world with contests in Europe, Indonesia, South Africa, Australia, Japan and Brazil.

For more info on these, check out the Volcom Wild in the Parks International site.

Wild at the Parks Rules:

There are 3 divisions: 14 and under, 15 and over, and the Pro-Am division.

The skatepark is broken up into three "zones", each one with multiple obstacles. A celebrity guest judge is set up in each zone and scores the competing skaters each time they land a trick. Heats of 15 competitors all skate and try to land the most impressive trick they can in a big jam session format for 15 minuets. The scores from each area are combined for the skater's total score for that Wild at the Parks event.

The top 7 skaters from each division are qualified for the final Wild in the Parks Championship.
