Drop Ball
Definition:
A means of restarting play after a stoppage caused by something other than an offense by a player. It is designed to offer no advantage to either side. A maximum of two players may compete for a ball that is dropped by the referee. It must bounce once before the players compete for it. A drop ball can occur when play has been stopped due to serious injury to a player, interference by an external party, or a ball becoming defective.
