How to Lose Weight With the Wii Fit

Losing weight will happen when you burn more calories than you consume.
That means that to lose weight you need to either reduce your caloric intake or increase your caloric burn, or a combination of both.
The Wii Fit is designed to be a video game that gets you off the couch and helps you burn calories.
It is unique in the entire gaming industry as it blends video games with exercise.
I remember the first week of January right after the Wii Fit came out.
It seems like everyone I know had gotten one for Christmas.
And everyone had just one thing to say: "OUCH I'm sore!" Apparently people went a little overboard with their new toy.
They played the Wii Fit for hours on end, not realizing that they really were exercising! It didn't feel as painful while they were doing it because their mind was distracted with playing.
If losing weight happens when we burn more calories than we consume, and if the Wii Fit really does, in fact, help us burn calories, than it stands to reason that we can use the game to our advantage, to help us lose weight! Now to the specific question: "How EXACTLY do I lose weight with the Wii Fit?" The game comes with several different styles of activities: Yoga, Strength Building and Cardio (and some other various games that are just for fun).
If you want to lose weight, stick with the Cardio games.
For example, the Hula Hoop is a fabulous exercise.
Change the setting for the length of time to 10 minutes.
(This is locked at first, but after a few times of doing the shorter time periods, it will become available.
) It is one of the best exercises in the Wii Fit, believe it or not.
It works the largest collection of muscle groups, and it works on the core areas that most of us need to "tone up" anyway.
The second best exercise for losing weight that comes with the Wii Fit is the step program.
It's like being at a step aerobics class...
you step on and off the Wii Fit's Balance Board along with the group of Wii characters on screen.
The beginning levels aren't that great, but the advanced routine is a decent workout.
Start your workout with some stretching exercises (ie: the Yoga exercises) that stretch the muscles you will be using in your Cardio games.
Do at least 7 minutes of stretching, and then do at least 25 minutes of Cardio.
Start with the steps for 5 minutes to raise your heart rate, then do 1 set of the 10-minute Hula Hoop exercise.
Before a second set of Hula Hoop, do a quick 2-minute Yoga pose that focuses on balance.
Then do your second set of 10-minute Hula Hoop, and finish with two 2-minute Yoga poses to help you cool down.
