Asbestos Related Conditions

Asbestos is a type of mineral fiber that is used for insulation and strengthening.
This mineral fiber was used as the raw material for various products until 1973 but later discontinued when its harmful properties became evident.
The fiber's harmful properties can lead to serious illnesses and death.
There are many asbestos related conditions and they include the following.
One condition that is related to asbestos is mesothelioma cancer.
In this type of cancer, the lining found in various organs such as the lungs, stomach and other internal organs gets affected due to the inhalation of asbestos.
Asbestos related conditions have symptoms that are not easy to notice and many years can pass from the time a person gets exposed to asbestos to the time when the symptoms become noticeable.
For this reason, people suffering from the negative effects of asbestos exposure may not know that they are ill for a long time.
The common signs of conditions related to asbestos are chest pain, shortness of breath, difficult breathing and chronic cough.
Examples of asbestos related conditions include Diffuse Pleural, Thickening and Lung Cancer.
These conditions mainly cause breathlessness and disability and some of them are fatal.
One condition that is highly serious is Malignant Mesothelioma and its symptoms can take up to fifty years before they become noticeable.
They include persistent cough, swelling, fever, anemia, night sweats and weight loss.
Physicians treat the condition with chemotherapy, surgery and radiation.
Since asbestos related conditions take a long time before getting noticed, research shows that people will still suffer from the conditions even after the year 2030.
If one suffers from the conditions due to exposure to Asbestos at work, he or she can claim for damages successfully.
Examples of people suffering from such conditions who have made successful claims include employees who worked close to other people who used asbestos, people who lived in premises where asbestos was used or was removed and relatives of people who have died due to asbestos related diseases.
