- 1). Make each child aware of your safety rules before their first time on the trampoline, and make sure each child agrees to follow them.
- 2). Set a limit for how many kids can play on the trampoline at one time. If you keep the number the same and everyone knows what it is, it will prevent hurt feelings when someone has to sit out for a turn.
- 3). Set an age limit. Kids with smaller siblings will bring toddlers over and put them in the trampoline along with all the other kids. You cannot count on the other parents to know where their children are, so you have to set a firm rule up front so that no one tries to bring little ones in. Otherwise there will be crying and hurt feelings when you have to be the bad guy and pull them out.
- 4). Make sure everyone stops jumping when someone is attempting to get on or off the trampoline. Small children especially are easily bounced out if the trampoline is not still when they are near the net's opening.
- 5). Do not allow toys, other than rubber balls, on the trampoline. Hard plastic toys such as swords and guns are too dangerous when jumping. Rubber balls can be used to play many games on the trampoline and will not cause any harm.
- 6). Walking or playing around the edge of the trampoline on the outside of the net should not be allowed.
- 7). Do not allow shoes on the trampoline, even for smaller children. It is hard on the trampoline, and shoes tend to hurt more than feet when kids jump and bounce into one another.
