How to Avoid Feeling Lazy

Feeling "lazy" is perfectly normal.
In fact, if you never ever feel lazy, then I need to know your secret! There are times when laziness can be considered constructive and other times it can be destructive.
Let's look at the differences between the two and then see how you can avoid "feeling" lazy.
Constructive Laziness.
There are times when the body and the mind needs to be "still".
The times when all you want to do is watch your favourite movie, listen to your favourite music & relax, or go out and socialise with friends.
You don't need to be operating at 100mph every day.
If you're having lazy moments because you are mentally or physically recharging, (which is necessary in order to remain productive) then this would be considered "positive laziness".
Destructive Laziness.
This is the one to avoid.
You lack motivation, ideas, enthusiasm or any sort of will or energy to do things.
This is the destructive type of laziness.
If you are identifying with the mentioned problems then the rest of this article is for you.
Let's look at 5 ways you can overcome laziness.
1.
Ensure You're Well Rested.
Ensure that you get a good nights sleep and are well rested when you are seeking to be productive.
If you do not have the sufficient amount of energy levels to get you through your day, you will find it hard to avoid the lazy feeling.
2.
Eat Healthy & Nutritionally Rich Foods.
This doesn't include junk foods.
Eating nutritionally rich foods will give you the energy that you need and deserve.
Avoid eating foods that provide little or no energy benefit to yourself.
3.
Exercise.
You will likely find that after a good workout, that your energy and motivation levels will pick up.
This is now a good time to act upon the energy you have.
It is also suggested that the earlier in the day you exercise the better.
4.
Set Small Chunks of Time and Take Small Steps.
Sometimes it is easy for us to try to do too much and as a result we are left overwhelmed and overwhelm can lead to procrastination and lazy habits.
Set yourself periods of times where you will aim to do the work you seek to do.
This will allow you to complete things one step at a time and with better focus.
5.
Self Motivation.
Without self motivation you will find it hard to overcome laziness.
Looking at your goals, vision board and listening to motivational music are a few things that can help you get into the right state of mind.
Thinking about the consequences of your laziness can also help as a motivator to act.
Find out what motivates you and stick with it.
