It has been more than 25 years that every single morning, my alarm beeps to wake me at 4:45 am. On most days, I wake up 2 or 3 minutes prior to my alarm rings. I instantly get out of bed and begin my day with a strong cup of tea, followed by my morning walk.
For me, running every morning is a positive thing to begin the day with and it rejuvenates me from within. I succeed in doing my work enthusiastically, says Suresh Nanda. Being a military man, it has been my habit that every single time when anyone asks me on how I manage to wake up early morning I end up saying that, €It's the way you think about a particular thing. If you go on thinking that you will not be able to wake up and keep on drafting a time table with no action to it, I don't think that you'll ever succeed in getting up early that way.€
It is not easy
For me, sometimes it gets really difficult to adhere to my self-made timetable, but it's my mindset that helps me to win over my laziness. Some mornings, when tired, when it is cold and raining, I do not 'feel' like following my regular duties. But it is also a fact that the day I skip waking up early morning, I end up being lazy and loathsome throughout the day, which I can't afford to. As aforesaid, I've been following this schedule from the past 25 years and it has had a huge impact on my health, concentration and energy. Jogging is one of the good habits that I have inculcated over these years, but there's a world of difference in merely saying it aloud and actually following it religiously. So, for those of you who have been thinking to adhere to a time table like me; don't waste time, just begin. Though it will take a lot of efforts, it will instill a more systematic and an organized approach to your lifestyle.
Discipline to me
I think for many of us, when it comes to discipline, it becomes a daunting task to follow. We question ourselves that, 'why would I deny myself of what I wish and when all I want is to roll over and sleep?€ Just think over these things that you wish to have in life, set a target, follow it, says Suresh Nanda. If you'll do something for the sake of it, you won't be able to reap its benefits. It's only when you feel like doing something from within and take action voluntarily, you will be able to reap advantages holistically.
