- 1). Cast on 50 stitches and knit in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) until the piece measures 20 inches in length.
- 2). Bind off all stitches. This piece will form the pillowcase.
- 3). Fold your knitted pillowcase in half, with the wrong sides together. Thread approximately 3 feet of yarn through your yarn needle, and whipstitch the edges of the pillowcase together, leaving the last 3 inches unsewn.
- 4). Stuff pillow stuffing into the pillowcase through the 3-inch opening, until you achieve your desired thickness. Ring bearer pillows should be stuffed fairly full, since they must maintain their shape while being carried. A good test while stuffing the pillow is to hold the pillowcase by opposite edges and see if the pillow droops in the middle. If so, add more stuffing.
- 5). Stitch the 3-inch opening closed with yarn and your yarn needle, and weave in all loose yarn ends.
- 6). Insert one end of the ribbon into and back out of the top of the pillowcase in the center, catching two to three knit stitches. You may find it easier to do this with a crochet hook than by hand. Pull the ends of the ribbon until they are of equal length. Tie a knot securely with the two ends of the ribbon, to secure the ribbon tightly against the pillowcase.
- 7). Thread your wedding rings onto one end of the ribbon, and tie a bow using both ends, so that the rings are secured within the knot of the bow.
