Prior to the 2000 Olympic Trials in Los Angeles, Acuff was in an automoble accident. She didn’t have a coach in high school, instead she taught herself the sport by reading books. Country musician Roy Acuff is her grandfather’s second cousin. Acuff models on the side and has graced the covers of Vogue, US, Sports Illustrated, Playboy and Rolling Stone.
