A Perfect Recipe to Bake a Chocolate Cake

There would be hardly anyone who does not like the taste of chocolate. And that is why if you are thinking of preparing a cake at home, itâEUR(TM)s always better to go for a chocolate cake. Ingredients required:

Chocolate cake

All-purpose flour - 2 Cups
Cocoa - 1 ¾ cup
Baking soda - 1½ tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Vanilla extract âEUR" 2 tsp
Vegetable oil - ½ cup
Milk âEUR" 1½ cup
Eggs âEUR" 2
Boiling water âEUR" 1 cup
Espresso powder - ½ tsp
Baking powder âEUR" 2 tsp
Sugar âEUR" 2 cups

Chocolate Frosting

Butter - 1½ cups
Cocoa âEUR" 1 cup
ConfectionerâEUR(TM)s sugar âEUR" 5 cups
Milk - ½ cup
Vanilla extract âEUR" 2 tsp
Espresso powder - ½ tsp

Instructions

1 âEUR" Preheat the oven to 350º F. Prepare two cake pans and butter them well to make them non-sticky.

2 - Mix up sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda and powder, salt and espresso powder in a large bowl. Whisk the mixture well to combine all the ingredients using a flour mixture or a paddle attachment.

3 - Mix vegetable oil, milk, vanilla and eggs with the flour mixture and stir the mixture at a medium speed. Now, reduce the pace and add the boiling water to the batter. Beat the mixture at a high speed for 1 minute to make the batter ready.

4 - Now, slowly pour the cake batter into two cake pans that you have kept prepared. Make sure that you distribute the batter evenly in both cans. Now, bake the cakes for 35 minutes. In order to check if the cake is ready you could try inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. The toothpick should come out clean.

5 âEUR" Remove the cake pans from the oven and let them cool down for 10 minutes.

6 - Ice the chocolate cake with the chocolate frosting

In a large bowl, add the cocoa and whisk well to remove the lumps.

Melt the butter and mix it with the cocoa; whisk the mixture to blend the cocoa with butter.

Pour the mixture into a mixer. Now, add milk and sugar. You should not add all the milk and sugar at once. You need to add 1 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk and then turn on the mixer at high speed and let it run for a minute. Again, add 1 cup of sugar, a spoon of milk and then turn on the mixture. Repeat this process until all the milk and sugar is added.

Add espresso powder and vanilla extract to the mixture and whisk well.
