Healthy Smoothie Recipes Pack in the Nutrients

Our bodies have nutritional needs that can sometimes be difficult to meet.
With our busy lifestyles and a fast-paced world, foods that are void of nutrition and have been processed to a point where the nutritional content has been erased are easy to come by.
Supermarket shelves are lined with processed junk foods that are high in saturated fats, refined carbohydrates and white flour and sugar.
It is easy to get caught up in a routine that lacks nutrition and can pack on the fat and calories.
Enter the smoothie! Smoothies, when the right ingredients are added, can be nutrient powerhouses.
If you drink a smoothie in the morning for breakfast, you could be getting all of the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables in a smooth, creamy package.
For example, a morning smoothie may include some greens as well.
Odd as it may seem, green smoothies are delicious and provide the nutrient value that exists in the green.
In my smoothies, I like to pack in the vitamins.
I will add some blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, mango, banana and a handful of greens, such as baby spinach.
I blend it up with some coconut water, which is rich in electrolytes and potassium and has zero fat.
The faintly sweet flavor of coconut water is a nice compliment to the fruit in the smoothie.
This is such a healthy smoothie recipe! All of the fruits in this smoothie mask the taste of the greens.
While the appearance may resemble the color of the front lawn, the taste is pure fruity and delicious.
By consuming this smoothie, I am providing my body with 6 servings of fruits and vegetables.
This means that with breakfast alone, I am meeting the recommended daily allowance.
I am off to a great start! This can set up the rest of my day of healthy eating.
For lunch, I can focus more on vegetables and getting in at least a couple of servings of leafy greens, which is easy to do if you add a small salad.
As for dinner, some fresh, steamed vegetables should accompany any meal.
Make the meat the accompaniment, not the vegetables.
Balance is important.
Smoothies can be a great part of a healthy diet.
You don't need to include fatty ingredients such as milk, ice cream or yogurt.
There are so many variations that there really is no limit to how you can prepare a smoothie.
Healthy smoothie recipes are easy to prepare, delicious and nutritious.
They can be a wholesome addition to a healthy diet.
Who says health doesn't taste good?
