However, in the 1960's the use of this fell out of favour with the growing demand for disposable diapers. In the 80's environmental issues concerning the use of disposable diapers brought the use cloth diapers to a favourable position. The invention of the modern diaper cover to go over flats and prefolds by Bummis, a Canadian company and the invention of the Snappi diaper fastener made cloth diapers user friendly and hygienic.
