Empowered to Overcome

What is success? To start, I believe some clarification on the word "success" is necessary.
The word "success" literally means the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavours.
Success is when you're trying to obtain or gain something, and you finally get it, therefore you do not have topursue it anymore.
Now often people chase hoping to reach a final stage where they "make it" and can kick back and relax for the rest of their lives.
However, this is the wrong mindset to have.
Once a goal is reached it must be replaced with another goal or that person runs the risk of coming to a standstill in their lives.
The Drive We have a God-given, constant desire to move forward or, put simply, to have more; and I'm not just speaking about finances.
I mean more joy, more fulfillment, and more sheer satisfaction of having overcome many accomplishments.
The day you stop trying is the day you stop feeling fulfilled.
If there was anyone on earth who could kick back and relax it would be Bill Gates.
But even he doesn't hide away in his riches and spend his life doing nothing! Don't get me wrong, he lives in financial freedom, but I guarantee you that he doesn't simply spend all his time and effort on "living it up".
He has the exact same drive that you or I have.
This drive is very important in our lives as it is what spurs us on to do greater things.
Oftentimes the drive is present by way of dissatisfaction.
Being dissatisfied with where you're at is not a bad thing.
If it can be harnessed and turned into motivation then it can be the single largest driving force of your life.
But be careful, because allowing dissatisfaction to turn into depression can easily be the one thing that holds you back from succeeding to any great extent.
Creating the Lifestyle If there is one thing I want you to take away from this, it would be that living successfully requires making a lifestyle of success.
"Success is a journey...
not a destination.
" - Anonymous.
This goes along with what I said earlier: Once a goal is reached it must be replaced with another.
If you do not keep placing new goals in front of you, how will you grow and feed the drive? Once you complete a goal the most common thing to do is sit back and relish in it's completion.
But believe me - that gets old.
You will eventually become dissatisfied, which will then turn to either motivation or depression.
Don't misunderstand me; Dissatisfaction is not the best motivating force, albeit it's probably the most common.
Don't wait until you're dissatisfied to push for more.
In fact, it's better if you're not dissatisfied, though perhaps more difficult to muster up that motivation.
Fullfilled Success has a lot to do with finances, but I'm sure there are many other articles that deal with how to get rich.
What is more important than the material results is the joy and fulfillment that you invite into your life when you begin to live successfully.
However, there is only one way to go about this.
Basically, if you do everything throughout your day with a spirit of excellence, no matter the result, you will be fulfilled.
When you can look back on a day and honestly say that you tried your best at everything you did that day, you live a successful life.
Don't let others measure your success.
It's YOUR success.
Keep setting your goals and moving towards them, but don't forget about what you're doing today.
You see, many people just wish they could skip to their next goal without having to do the work to get there.
But as we just discussed, if you're not working towards something, you will never feel fulfilled.
Everything discussed here is based on Bible principles with which God intends to take each of us "from glory to glory.
" - 2 Corinthians 13:18 God Bless
