Senators, often say just out of earshot of the media, that if only the people knew that behind closed doors they are all friends making deals, all this political party affiliation, and nonsense might really fall apart.
Indeed, they have to work across party lines or they could never get anything done, or trade-off for things that they want to achieve, or have pet projects they wish to see to fruition in order to continue to collect a war chest of political campaign contributions from their biggest donors.
Interestingly enough, many on the political left say that the neo-cons are still running things and have a tremendous political influence in Washington DC, and that they have powerful members of Congress on both sides of the isle working behind closed doors.
They say that these back door deals are destroying America.
Still, when we elect our politicians they say when they are in power that they want to reach across party lines to get things done.
Further, this is a little bit of the campaign rhetoric that all politicians use that wish to be elected so they can get the most amount of across over votes.
This is part of the overall game.
Is it good, is it bad, it's hard to say but it is.
Should the neo-conservatives, or any other group be condemned for doing so, should those that carry their agendas still be condemned? If we are to condemn them, we will have to condemn all politicians, on all sides who claim to work across the aisle.
Still, if no one works across the aisle nothing whatsoever gets done.
Some might say that would be a good thing.
Sometimes I am one of those.
But, I hope you will consider this either way, no matter where you stand on the issues.
