How Leaders PROVE Themselves Daily?

Simply being elected, selected or ascending to some position of leadership rarely indicates that someone will behave as a real and effective leader.
Every true leader inevitably realizes that it is imperative to PROVE himself each and every day! When one leads others, he has to understand that others are always watching and observing his behavior and actions.
His attitude and essence constantly states something about him, and even someone who may have done something insightful and impactful in the past, must repeatedly show the value he provides, the values he stands for, and the direction he seeks for his organization, and why.
1.
Ask someone who leads what his priorities are, and what he is planning to do, to assure that his rhetoric and actions act synergistically! An individual may often say what appears to be the right thing, but merely saying something is meaningless unless he does something towards achieving worthwhile and needed goals.
2.
A true leader constantly seeks to develop real and meaningful relationships, where he develops a kinship with his constituents, supporters, followers and other stakeholders, as well as those who might develop a potential for becoming more involved in a meaningful manner, with the particular group.
This is only accomplished when the aim is to enhance one's relevance, especially in terms of addressing needs and increasing the possibility of greater sustainability.
3.
It is never enough to sit back and wait for others to tell you what they seek or want! Rather, one must take the proactive approach, and make the overtures to those he represents, and learn what they seek and need, by truly and effectively listening.
A leader's actions must be consistent if he is to maintain the trust of others, and thus he must clearly and openly explain his objectives.
When one proceeds with this type of mindset, he welcomes opportunities and is prepared to address them in a timely manner.
4.
Don't even think of being a leader unless you have a reason for doing so, which means that true leadership must be driven by one's vital vision! This must be something so impactful and meaningful that it will invariably positively impact others, which will clearly demonstrate the virtues that others seek in their leaders.
5.
Being a leader must never be about you or your needs, but rather requires approaching one's responsibilities with empathy.
Empathetic leaders see things from the points of view of others, and thus better understand how to proceed to truly address things that should be prioritized.
This will provide both the individual and the group with added energy which will motivate and drive all to focus better, try harder and do more! One never leads in a vacuum.
Always behave in a manner that you would if you knew others were watching, because they usually are!
