More than once I've heard parents say they wished they had a gifted child. When they say that, though, I usually get the feeling that they long to put that bumper sticker on that car - you know, the one that says "Proud Parent of an Honor Student."
What these parents don't realize is that if they actually had a gifted child, they might be just as likely to have the bumper sticker that says, "My kid beat up your honor student."
Maybe I'm not being fair to those parents.
After all, when most people think of gifted children, they think of the kids who excel in school and succeed in life. So don't all parents want a gifted kid? It depends on what you think it means to be gifted.
Do you think all parents want a gifted child? Take the poll and let us know!
