Have you ever noticed that in politics today there seems to be a lack of original thinking? Ever noticed that there is just something wrong with the current paradigm of left vs.
right? I call this, Thinking in 1-D.
Overly simplistic, this type of thinking leads to disasters, as can be witnessed in today's political spectrum.
Even the word spectrum implies a horizontal line which proceeds from left to right, with so called liberals on one side, and conservatives on the other.
If your stuck in this paradigm, then everything I say that you disagree with, you will label as either 'right-wing crazy talk' or 'left-wing extremism'.
It will never occur to you that, same as the physical world, politics is really 3-Dimensional as well.
There is no left vs right and libertarians (or moderates) in the middle.
Why does every issue have to be simplified to this rather lacking definition? The truth is much more complex.
For instance, I label myself as neither conservative or liberal by today's definitions.
Those definitions fall short and serve to lock people into useless labels.
Labels people bandy about as if they actually mean something.
For instance, the word 'liberal'.
It means something very different today then what it meant 100 years ago.
An 'old-school' liberal actually means somebody that stands for liberty for all, as opposed to today's version which is closer to somebody that stands for free lunch for all.
The terms have been turned on their heads.
Democrats, Republicans, each were parties that were designed in their creation as something much different then what they have become.
Another example of this is the fact that Republicans used to be about limited government, and a conservative fiscal policy.
Good and worthy ideas, but today's Republicans stand for just a slower onset of socialism vs.
the Democrats fast-laned approach to socialism.
The end result is the same, socialism and enslavement for all.
At least the masses will be equal under our gods, we will all be serfs under the new age elitist's.
A quote that really makes you think is one by Carrol Quigley, one time mentor to our first 'black' president, Clinton.
Carrol said, "The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers.
" What does this mean really? It means we are all a bunch of dupes.
It is like professional wrestling.
The politicians put on a big show, pretending hatred and enmity, but in reality they are all buddy buddies colluding together for one purpose.
To distract from the real power, to distract from the real goals.
What is their main goal? To fleece the public.
They want one thing, to remain in power.
Their only principle, do whatever it takes to remain in power.
Which brings me back to the point of this article.
How have these master politicians been able to pull the wool over the public's eyes? They have done it by the oldest rule in the book.
Divide and conquer.
If you hate all those nasty conservatives, if you hate all those nasty liberals, then you have fallen for it, you have been duped.
The solution? Quit thinking in 1-D.
There is no left vs right.
There never has been.
The liberals are mostly just like you conservatives.
The conservatives are mostly just like you liberals.
We may differ on some ideas, but over all we all want the same things.
We may differ as to education, and understanding, but I guarantee that if all the real facts were known, that if the full picture were given to each of us, that the battle lines would evaporate into a common cause.
What is that cause? Freedom.
Freedom for all.
Even the libertarians miss some of the truth.
This idea that we have to group into our favored party is a ruse.
It's a trap.
The best thing for America would not be two parties.
Not even three parties.
But a thousand parties.
Not a single party would ever get anything in their agenda done.
And this would be great.
Not a single debate in congress would ever be over quickly, and this would be great.
The last thing we want is efficient government.
Government is force, government is power.
And that force and power is always used for a negative.
Government can never be positive force.
I am not saying it cannot have a positive influence in society, but rather that its methods are always a negative control.
Laws don't define what you CAN do, but rather what you CAN'T do.
So to have a government that is perfectly efficient, means the lives of the citizens will always be negatively impacted.
The founders knew this, they purposefully made our government inefficient, and almost incapable of making decisions.
We don't want bi-partisanship, we want partisanship.
We don't want compromise (especially when it comes to principles), we want debate.
We don't want our parties working together in collusion.
We want them fighting and bickering until the cows come home.
Why? Because when politicians get together in a common cause, you lose.
If you still want an enemy, rather then picking your favored side of the left vs.
right debate, pick the real side, pick the historical battle lines.
The sides of Oppressor vs.
Oppressed.
The Serfs vs.
the Elites.
Because very soon, the facade of this 1-Dimensional thinking of left vs right is going to come off, very soon it is going to become painfully obvious who your real enemies are, and it isn't your next door neighbor 'right-wing extremist' or your 'liberal whacko' co-worker, it has always been those in power seeking to take away from you your most cherished possession, your freedom.
