- 1). Remove all memory modules, and select one to install.
- 2). Install the unit in one slot, then boot the computer to see if it boots up fully. If it does not, remove the memory module and install it into the next slot. Repeat this step until all slots and memory modules have been tested. If the module works in one slot and not the next, then the slot it doesn't work in is broken. If the module does not work in any of the slots, then the module itself is broken.
- 3). If the slot for the module is broken, send in the motherboard to the manufacturer for repairs. If the module itself is broken, return the module for a replacement.
