- Frisbee golf, also known as disc golf, has fans across the United States. In 2009, the Professional Disc Golf Association had 14,000 members in America alone. As not every disc golfer registers with the PDGA, hundreds of thousands of disc golfers may exist worldwide. To play, you simply throw a Frisbee from the tee area to a designated target, usually a basket. Formalized as a sport in the 1970s when the PDGA formed, disc golf's popularity led to the creation of many "frolf" courses.
- Located within the Lobdell Reserve in Alexandria, anyone who plans to play disc golf here must pay the park entrance fee. Its holes have signs for easy identification, but seven of 18 require a Frisbee throw of over 300 feet to reach the target area. Four holes require more than a 400-foot throw, making for a challenging course. The park closes at dusk daily.
