Hello. My name is Josiah Rea. I'm going to show you how to change the name of a subdomain in your cPanel. And a subdomain is just a fancy name for a folder. So if you go to your website and you access a subdomain it's going to actually look a lot like a folder address but instead of being in like Windows Explorer it's going to be in the address bar of your website. So I'm going to show you what that looks like real quick. So here we are inside of Chrome. I've got a cPanel open. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to my file manager and let's open up where my websites live and stuff. This is my main website, but I've also got this subdomain for WordPress where I was kind of training myself. So let's open that up and if I click on this index, PHP and I view it you see the address is the address of my site and then WordPress as a subdomain. And that's just the address of the folder that I'm at. So I'm going to try and change the name of that folder. So let's close out of here and I'm going to back up a level, and let's click on WordPress, and it gives us the option to rename it. So let's just rename it Subdomain and click rename. And it asks us if we really want to do it and we say yes. So now it's been renamed and it's also actually resorted itself. So let's go back inside of it and we're going to open up index one more time. And so now you can see the name of our subdomain has changed just by renaming that folder. I hope you've enjoyed this video on how to rename your subdomains from your cPanel. I'm Josiah Rea.
