- 1). Download and install the Winrar extraction software (See Resources). Although it is free for the first 40 days, you should be able to repair your files in under an hour.
- 2). Right-click your damaged zip file and click "Open." All your zip files are now associated with Winrar, and so by default it will open all of them. The program will open and show you the contents of your zip file.
- 3). Right-click the first item in the list, which should be a folder icon with "..." next to it. This icon represents everything in the archive, and it's like a short way of selecting everything. On the menu that just opened, select "Repair archive" and select the destination for the repaired archive to be stored. Wait for it to finish (it may take a while depending on how big the file is) and when it is done you'll have your files fully repaired and uncorrupted.
