- The University of Chicago's Harris School offers a Master of Arts in Public Policy for individuals with a post-baccalaureate degree in law, medicine, business administration or a doctorate in an area of academic research. The program is comprised of six public policy courses and three electives. Harvard University also offers a one-year Master's degree in Public Policy for established professionals with seven years of experience in the field. The curriculum requires students to develop an individual study program with an academic adviser. The value of the program lies in the student's freedom to pursue emerging interests and curiosities in the field.
- Yale University offers Master's degrees in Environment and Forestry Management to mid-career professionals working in a related field. Students must have seven years of working experience in a field directly related to either program. Applicants not accepted into one of the one-year programs will be automatically added to the pool of candidates for the two-year Master's degrees available in each field.
- The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom offers several one-year degree programs in different aspects of law. Oxford students can obtain a second Bachelor's degree in Civil Law. A Magister Juris is available for students with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Law. A Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice degree is available for students without a background in law. Oxford students with a Master's degree in Criminology can subsequently study for a Masters of Philosophy in Criminology. Research degrees include a Masters of Philosophy in Law and a Master of Studies in Legal Research.
- Benedictine University offers an accelerated MBA online for professionals. The program is not guaranteed to be completed in one year. Instead, students may take two classes per semester rather than one. Courses are offered in entrepreneurship, management, accounting, finance, marketing, international business and health care administration.
- The University of Southern California offers a Master of Arts in Teaching online. The program is approximately one year in length. The curriculum includes pedagogical techniques, and social and psychological theory for the classroom. USC works with students across the country to obtain field experience necessary for completion of the degree.
