2009 Ford Ranger Truck
With ratings at 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, the 2.3L 4-cylinder Ford Ranger continues to be the most fuel efficient pickup in the U.S.Ranger Truck Trim Levels and Body Styles
Ranger pickups are built in four trim levels: XL, XLT, Sport and FX4 Off-Road, each with varying degrees of standard features and options.XLT trucks have body-color front and rear bumpers.
A chrome H-bar grill is standard on 4x2 XLT trucks.
The Ranger Sport has a black grille with a body-color surround. Move up to a Sport SuperCab for standard step bars. Sport SuperCab 4x4 trucks and FX4 models have standard skid plates to protect the truck's underbody.
Rangers are available as Regular Cabs and as two-door or four-door SuperCab pickup trucks. A 7-foot bed is optional on XL and XLT Regular Cab trucks.
Ranger Powertrains
Two engine choices:- 2.3L 4-cylinder - 143 hp / 154 lb.-ft. torque (standard engine for XL and XLT 4x2 Regular Cab and 2-door SuperCabs
- 4.0L V-6 - 207 hp / 238 lb.-ft. torque
A 5-speed manual transmission is standard with both engines; a 5-speed automatic is available.
