Male Pattern Balding - Men Are You Ready To Turn The Tables on Male Pattern Balding?

Most men would agree that when it comes to male pattern balding there are woefully few treatments that will truly produce results which live up to expectations. Some will work for a while but results will start to decline after four or five months, others simply don't work at all, and still others are so harsh the scalp irritation and dandruff which results is simply not worth the trouble.

Minoxidil infused products can be found on almost every retail outlet that sells hair products. Commercials promoting these best-selling hair re-growth products are quick to point out that they re-grow new hair 80 percent of the time. Sounds pretty good right!

Well, that is until you read the insert which plainly states that only about 15 percent of new growth will be anything more than fuzz. If a friend or relative were to ask me whether they should try minoxidil infused hair re-growth products I would tell them absolutely, but not to expect much.

My personal experience with these products was initially pretty good but after 3 months things will started to go into decline with mild scalp irritation and redness developing. While my experience was with these types of products was terrible it may not be typical.

There is one thing about protecting my existing hair, and occasionally re-growing new hair, that I have learned over the years is to be open-minded about solutions because you never really know for sure what is going to produce the best results.

The trick for turning the tables on male pattern baldness for most men seems to be a two-step process with the first being gaining an understanding of what you are trying to reverse.

The whole male pattern balding thing revolves around an androgen hormone known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As the name suggests it is a form of testosterone. This hormone in small quantities produces little or no damage and may actually help moderate the hair replacement cycle. On the other hand when too much DHT is produced it accumulates in the hair follicle complex, gradually causing it to shrink to a point where re-growth is no longer possible. If the follicle is completely closed it is very difficult to rejuvenate. On the other hand if it is damaged you may be able to keep it going for a while longer.

So as I see it the key to turning the tables on male pattern baldness is to either limit DHT production or keep it from accumulating. Additionally, my experience with my own hair tells me that scalp circulation needs to be enhanced if any real quality hair growth is to be realized.

My current formula for success involves a natural oral remedy for hair loss containing ginkgo, rosemary, prickly ash, field horsetail, and yarrow to restore scalp circulation and encourage new growth along with taking two saw palmetto tablets daily. One in the morning and one in the evening with food. I also take a B complex vitamin containing the important B vitamins biotin and B12 since there is some evidence suggesting B vitamins may play a role in hair and scalp health.

Additionally, I would suggest you use only a shampoo specifically formulated for thinning hair and only wash ever other day. If for some reason you start to see hair loss when washing you should consider changing your hair re-growth formula since what you are doing isn't working.

When turning the tables on hair loss it is always important to remember that it is easier to protect your existing hair than it is to re-grow new hair and your routine should be centered around this truth.
